Gargi Dutta is currently pursuing her doctoral research in the Department of English, University of North Bengal. She formerly taught as an assistant professor at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Bengaluru and Mount Carmel College (Autonomous) Bengaluru. Her recent publications include “Visions, Trances and Other Abnormalities of Indenture in Jahajin, The Swinging Bridge and Sea of Poppies” in Kala Pani Crossings, Gender and Diaspora: Indian Perspectives (Routledge, 2024). Her areas of interest include environmental humanities, the South Asian diaspora, and postcolonial literature.
