Sasha Stiles is a first-generation Kalmyk-American poet, artist, and AI researcher whose work bridges tradition and innovation through hybrid poetics, generative imagination, and collaborative intelligence. Since 2018, she has been at the forefront of human/machine co-creation, from her acclaimed book Technelegy (2021) to award-winning projects like “Cursive Binary” and “Repetae.” Her experiments situate poetry within today’s most urgent conversations about art, technology, and humanity while also helping to raise poetry’s cultural currency in contemporary culture.

Stiles’s work has been recognized by the Prix Ars Electronica, Sigg Art Prize, and Lumen Prize; featured in Artforum, Christie’s, and NPR; and exhibited internationally, from MoMA to Lincoln Center to Tokyo’s Shibuya Crossing. In 2025 she was invited to create the official poster for Art Basel, spotlighting generative poetry at the world’s most prestigious art fair. A graduate of Harvard and Oxford, she is co-founder of experimental literary collective theVERSEverse and longtime poetry mentor to the humanoid android BINA48.

Stiles’s longtime co-author, Technelegy, is an emergent AI poet conceived to embody language as a living system of memory and imagination and designed to generate multimodal verse as an ever-evolving archive of authorship and artistic evolution.
