there are persons who delight in human suffering
delight in compromising potable water                        reward themselves 
with short-term gains                       there are persons who delight 

in pepper-spraying humans                              milky relief aftermath 
rubber bullets hit back lung                cough blood for days
contusion bloom skinrupture bone preen

delight in lethality increase                water stream        freezing temperature 
hypothermic human body response                       there are persons 
who delight in human torment screams

delight in suffering water irony
blue night shiver    fear grenade 
amputate limb


Trevino L. Brings Plenty is a poet, musician, and multimedia video artist who lives, works, and writes in Portland, Oregon. He has read/performed his work at poetry festivals as far away as Amman, Jordan, and close to his home base at Portland’s Wordstock Festival. In 2015 Trevino was the C. Hamilton Bailey Fellowship recipient.
